Invitation to the 2019 CELeN Internship Program
Dear International Students and CELen Members,
On behalf of the Korean Society of Civil Engineers (KSCE), I would like to invite you to participate in the 2019 Civil Engineering Leader’s Network (CELeN) Internship Program held on December 16-20, 2019 at Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC). Hereafter is the detailed information of the internship program:
The 2019 CELeN INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The Civil Engineering Leader’s Network (CELeN), consisting of international students and civil engineers, was established by the KSCE, as an initiative to contribute to the development of international community by providing young civil engineers with the opportunities to globally learn, experience, and communicate. As part of the CELeN activity, the KSCE arranges internship programs offering graduate/undergraduate students interested in gaining hands-on work experience as well as exposure to practices in the civil engineering industry. The 1st CELeN Internship Program was a six-month program arranged by Hyundai E&C Co., Ltd., offering five undergraduate students of Adama Science & Technology University (ASTU) in Ethiopia to work in the construction site of Qater’s Lusail Expressway. The 2nd CELeN Internship Program was a three-week program arranged by the Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC), offering seven CELeN student members to work in KEC. This year, the 2019 CELeN Internship Program is arranged as below:

JOB OBJECTIVES:
- Understanding work assignments in different divisions
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate/Undergraduate Student in Civil Engineering
- KSCE CELeN Student Member
- Korean speaking and writing skills is a plus
- Excellent communication and team-working skills
- Values diversity
- Comfortable in using standard software packages, especially PowerPoint/Word/Excel
LOCATIONS:
1. Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC) Head Office (Gimcheon, Korea) and Regional HQ
2. R&D HQ: KEC Research Institute and ICT Center (Dongtan, Korea)
3. Direct Control Center: KEC Traffic Information Center (Seongnam, Korea)
4. etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
5 days (Monday ? Friday), 8hours/day (09:00-18:00)
COMPENSATION:
22,000won/day (based on KOICA standard for daily expenses), Lunch, and Technical Tours
