The Korean Society of Civil Engineers (KSCE) is
pleased to announce the KSCE
2018 CONVENTION (2018 Conference & Civil Expo)
to be held on October 17-19, 2018 at
the Gyeongju Hwabaek International Convention Center (HICO), Gyeongju, Korea (www.HICOcity.kr).
We invite all civil engineers in different fields and different countries to
unite, to participate and to create a new chapter of discussion under the
slogan, “Civil Engineering for all people!”
Gyeongju is located in the southeastern part of the
Korean Peninsula, and is the most popular tourist destination in South Korea.
The city is known for its well preserved archaeological sites and cultural
properties, including three World Heritage Sites designated by UNESCO, since
the period where it was the capital of the ancient kingdom of Silla (57BC -
935AD).
On
the occasion of the convention, I would like to invite you to participate in
the KSCE Civil Engineering Leader’s
Network (CELeN) Meeting held at 15:40
- 18:00 on Thursday, October 18, 2018. This year, the CELeN Meeting will be
held in two sessions, an English session under the theme “Innovations in Korean civil engineering projects”, and a Korean
session under the theme “Harmony between
local wisdom and technology in civil engineering projects in my home country”.
The main task for these meetings will be promoting the activities of CELeN
Student Chapter, sharing knowledge with presentations on the chosen theme, and
networking among international students studying in Korea.
If
you would like to participate, please join the KSCE English Website and
register through the Events Participation in My Page by October 3, 2018. Complimentary registration to the convention
including Lunches, Banquet, and Convention Kit will be provided to the
international students who register through the above e-mail by the due date. We
truly look forward to welcoming you in Gyeongju!
